Fix semicolon-delimited CSV files before Mailchimp import
European spreadsheet settings frequently export “CSV” files with semicolons instead of commas. Mailchimp explicitly calls this out as a cause of import problems.
Why this happens
The separator used by spreadsheet software can follow your operating-system locale. A file may have a .csv extension while its actual delimiter is ;.
What ReadyRows changes safely
ReadyRows detects common delimiters locally and exports a comma-separated CSV. It also flags rows containing more values than the header, which can indicate broken quoting or unexpected delimiters inside cells.
No customer data upload
Delimiter detection and conversion happen in your browser. ReadyRows does not need to send the contact list to a server to repair the file structure.
Official reference
Mailchimp documents the relevant import rule in its contact import troubleshooting guide.
Check the file before you re-import it
ReadyRows scans the file locally in your browser, highlights platform-specific import risks and separates rows that need attention from rows that are ready to export.
